43rd Yamato Fresh Soba Festival

About this event

Held as the second installment of the Three Major Yamato Soba Festivals, the "43rd Yamato Fresh Soba Festival" is the liveliest festival of the year in Yamato Town. At Yamato Michikusa Street, the event venue, visitors can compare and enjoy fresh Yamato soba noodles prepared with master craftsmanship. Tickets are 700 yen each, which can be exchanged for one bowl each of kake soba (hot broth) and mori soba (chilled with dipping sauce). Participating vendors include Yamato Soba-dokoro Mancho, Iide and Soba Village Center Soba Denshokan, and Aizu Yamato Soba Dojo Kyodokan, among others. In addition, under the title "Kitakata SAKE Expo," a tasting set of three types of local sake from Kitakata City (500 yen) will also be offered. Alongside the soba row, local specialty products, food stalls, and food trucks will be lined up, with numerous events by local groups also prepared. Starting October 19, fresh soba can also be enjoyed at soba restaurants throughout Yamato Town.
