About this event

This is an event where storytellers gather from various towns and villages across Oku-Aizu to present old tales associated with roads and paths. Storytellers from Kaneyama Town, Showa Village, Tadami Town, Minamiaizu Town, Yanaizu Town, and Mishima Town will recount traditional local tales handed down in each area, such as "Ubakawa Mukashi," "Toge/Toge Mukashi," "Hoin to Kitsune," "Taro, Jiro, Saburo," "Kichibe-san ga Kitsune ni Bakasareta Hanashi," "Odenbo Mukashi," "Obodaki Kannon," "Bijo Toge," and "Hanashi Senryo." Furthermore, a special dialogue "Oku-Aizu Roads and Folktales" will be held featuring Michiko Saito from Tadami Town and Nanae Igarashi from Mishima Town. This event offers a precious opportunity to experience the local culture and history through old tales rooted in the rich nature and people's lives in Oku-Aizu. Participation is free, and the capacity is around 100 people. Advance registration is required.
