The 13th Monozukuri Saiko & The 22nd Aizu Woven Craft Exhibition
Japanese name:第13回ものづくり再光 & 第22回会津の編み組工芸品展
📅 Sat, Oct 10, 2026 - Sun, Oct 11, 2026
About this event
The "13th Monozukuri Saiko" is a craft fair where creators of handicrafts such as woodworking, dyeing, and weaving gather together. In addition to the wish to "bring light once again" (saiko), the name embodies thoughts of "revival" (saiko), "reconsideration" (saiko), and "the finest" (saiko). In Mishima Town, there are people engaged in various forms of craftsmanship beyond woven craftwork, including woodworking, dyeing, and weaving. Their items will be sold along with explanations of the works and the passionate feelings poured into their craft. Handmade items that cannot be achieved through mass production will be lined up, allowing you to search for "a unique piece perfect for you." It will be an opportunity to rediscover the fun, intrigue, and joy of craftsmanship through seeing and making. The "22nd Aizu Woven Craft Exhibition" is an open competition exhibition soliciting works from woven craft artisans across the Aizu region. During the exhibition period, winning works will be displayed alongside an exhibition and spot-sale event for submitted works. The venue is scheduled to feature bags, small accessories, and items made from wild grapevine bark and other natural tree barks and vines, as well as hiroro grass crafts and silver vine (matatabi) crafts. It is an ideal event to visit if you are looking for everyday tools and lifestyle items for yourself. Both events are held concurrently, offering an opportunity to experience the diversity and charm of craftsmanship.
