Musical Drama "Night Picnic"

About this event

A musical drama based on the novel "Night Picnic" by writer Riku Onda, an alumna of Mito First High School, and inspired by the school's "Walking Gathering" (Aruku-kai), will be revived on a larger scale. This youth ensemble drama depicting high school students walking about 70 kilometers overnight will be performed at the Mito Civic Hall Globis Hall. Tomu Yoshikawa, Ryosuke Kato, Yuto Adachi, and Chihiro Mimori, who have ties to Ibaraki Prefecture, star as the main cast, with a special appearance by Koh Tsurugi. As a production presented by the Art Tower Mito, it aims to create a new legendary stage. The story depicts the intertwining of students who harden special resolves during the walk, students who wish to graduate soon, and a "spell" cast from a distant place. Amid swirling rumors of romance and various topics, the delicate emotions of the students are portrayed, evoking deep emotion.
