Tsuchiura All Japan Fireworks Competition

Coloring autumn in Tsuchiura, this is Japan's premier fireworks competition boasting rich history and tradition. Held annually on the first Saturday of November, pyrotechnicians gathered from across the country compete for the title of Japan's best across three divisions: Starmines, 10-gou Shells (Size 10 Shells), and Creative Fireworks. In particular, the wide starmine "Tsuchiura Fireworks Medley" presented by the organizer is overwhelmingly powerful and well worth seeing. Continuing since 1925 (Taisho 14), this competition continues to captivate many people with the magnificent spectacle of dyeing the night sky crimson.
