About this event
"Hitachiota Station Summer Story 2026" is a festival held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Hitachiota Station West Exit Plaza. At the opening of the event, all participants will sing the Hitachiota city anthem, "Sora ga Aru Machi," together to the accompaniment of Tatsuro Mashiko and the Hitachiota Junior High School Brass Band. This chorus project is recruiting 100 participants and is open to anyone of kindergarten age or older who can sing (elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian). On the day of the event, participants will gather in front of the headquarters tent at 15:00, undergo a chorus rehearsal, followed by the opening declaration at 15:55, a brass band performance from 16:00, and the grand chorus of "Sora ga Aru Machi" at 16:25. Afterwards, the festival will continue with dances and songs, concluding with the closing declaration at 21:00. Participants are scheduled to receive a cooling towel featuring the event name as a gift. Details of the event are provided by the Hitachiota City Tourism and Products Association.
