Autumn Foliage at Onuma Quasi-National Park
Japanese name:大沼国定公園の紅葉
📅 Sun, Oct 11, 2026 - Tue, Nov 10, 2026
About this event
Autumn foliage viewing at a quasi-national park consisting of an active volcano and lakes and ponds of various sizes formed by its eruptions. Trees around the lakeside turn red, orange, and yellow, allowing visitors to enjoy vivid colors in the clear autumn air. Centered around Onuma, Konuma, and Junsainuma with as many as 126 islands floating in them, this quasi-national park overlooks the active volcano 'Mount Komagatake' and offers beautiful nature throughout the four seasons. In autumn, lakeside trees are dyed yellow, orange, and red, and 'Kogetsu Bridge' is popular as an excellent viewing spot. Four walking paths with different atmospheres are established within the park, and cycling around Lake Onuma is also possible. It is a recommended spot to fully enjoy autumn leaves while feeling the refreshing autumn breeze. Adding color to the view of Mount Komagatake across the lake, the lakeside circuit road also has spots that resemble autumn foliage tunnels, which can be enjoyed leisurely through walking or sightseeing boats.
