About this event
"Kashima Rediscovery Town Walking Tour: Swan Village (Hakucho no Sato)" is a walking event to experience the rich nature and history of Kashima. It tours the Shizaki and Takei areas in northwestern Kashima City, a fertile land where swans have visited since ancient times. The tour visits Kashima City's largest giant Sudajii chinquapin tree, Karausu Shrine where a wooden mortar (karausu) is enshrined as a deity, and shrines and temples founded in the Sengoku and Edo periods. While walking the approximately 7 km course visiting Dodenji Temple, the giant Sudajii tree, and other spots, you can reflect on the region's history and legends.
