About this event
Held at Suigo Itako Ayame Park in Itako City, Ibaraki Prefecture, 'Kaze no Oto Shirabe / 22nd Suigo Itako Moon Festival' is a seasonal tradition that signals the arrival of autumn. You can spend a quiet moment surrounded by the pleasant melodies played by bamboo and glass wind chimes hung from the wisteria trellises in the iris garden. The event is held over two days, with the '22nd Suigo Itako Moon Festival' held simultaneously on Saturday, October 3. On this day, along with rickshaw rides, ro-bune (traditional sculling boat) sightseeing, SUP experiences, sunset ro-bune, and market & kitchen car stalls, stage events titled 'Harmony of Music and Sound' are held into the evening. A diverse lineup of artists will perform, including Hanamuragumi, Oranda Gakutai, Kitaura Warabe Daiko, Yoshihide Beppu, Nossa Saudade (Brazilian Latin music), and Masaaki Narasaki, and visitors can also enjoy bamboo lantern illuminations. In addition, balloon gifts and moon-viewing sweets gifts (on a first-come, first-served basis) are available. On Sunday, October 4, as 'Kaze no Oto Shirabe', visitors can enjoy the market & kitchen cars, rickshaw rides, ro-bune sightseeing, and SUP experiences, with moon-viewing sweets gifts also offered to questionnaire respondents. In particular, on the 'Sunset - Evening Ro-bune Cruise' operating from 16:30 to 19:00 on Saturday, October 3, you can ride a ro-bune and savor the riverside atmosphere at sunset. In the SUP experience, you can cruise leisurely through Suigo Itako while feeling the pleasant autumn breeze, enjoyable for beginners to experienced paddlers alike.
