About this event
A commemorative ceremony and inaugural hike will be held to celebrate the full opening of the approximately 350-kilometer "Hitachi Province Long Trail" spanning the northern Ibaraki region. Connecting the rich natural environment and satoyama villages of northern Ibaraki, this trail offers journeys to discover Japan's pristine landscapes across all four seasons. Professional adventure racer Yoki Tanaka will participate as a special guest to celebrate the opening. The ceremony will take place at Hitachiomiya City Miwa Community Center, followed by the inaugural hike to Mount Shakujo. A town walking course exploring historical sites in the Takabu area is also scheduled.
