Utsunomiya's summer tradition, "Miya no Bon Odori," will be held on August 22, 2026. A large yagura tower will be assembled at the intersection near Tobu-Utsunomiya Station, with lively taiko drum beats echoing throughout the city. The main dance performed is Tochigi's pride, the "Waraku Odori." Accompanied by authentic singing and musical performances, the event offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere where anyone from children to adults can casually join the dance circle. Food and festival game stalls line the surrounding area, making it a vibrant summer festival wrapped in the smiles and enthusiasm of local residents. The event runs from 14:00 to 21:00 at the intersection in front of the main entrance of Tobu Utsunomiya Department Store.
