Commemorating "Fossil Day" on October 15, the hands-on workshop "Learn with Fossils" 2026 held at Sano City Kuzu Fossil Museum allows you to touch fossils and learn enjoyably. This event aims to deepen understanding of fossils and paleontology and raise interest in the history of life and the Earth. In addition to the paid "Hands-on experience polishing and observing fossil-bearing limestone" (400 yen, reservation required, for ages 5 and older), free-to-join activities are also available. Looking at fossil-related exhibits and answering quizzes also gives you a chance to receive a souvenir. Event-exclusive merchandise will also be on sale. Enjoy a full day feeling close to fossils at the museum. The hands-on session requiring prior application has a capacity of 10 participants per session and is open to individuals aged 5 and older. Preschool children may participate if accompanied by a guardian. Applications can be made via an online application form or postcard, listing the representative's name, address, telephone number, email address, preferred time slot (up to 2nd choice), number of participating attendees, names and dates of birth of all participants, and the number of accompanying persons and toddlers. If applications exceed capacity, a lottery will be held and results will be notified by the museum. The application deadline is Thursday, September 24.
