The sky lantern festival that created many moments of emotion and smiles last year returns to the night sky of Kiryu again this year. Come and light a beacon of hope in the night sky of Kiryu with your loved ones and family. Starting after sunset at 18:20, the release of sky lanterns glowing in beautiful orange light will take place. On the day, "KIRYU FOOD & BAZAAR" will be held concurrently, allowing you to fully enjoy the venue from 10:00 to 19:00. Sky lanterns cost 4,000 yen each, and advance application is required to participate. Photographer tickets for viewing close to the launch area are also available, recommended for those who wish to experience the magical spectacle up close. Why not spend a special evening wrapped in gentle orange light together with family, friends, or loved ones? The moment when sky lanterns carrying wishes and thoughts color the night sky will surely become an unforgettable, cherished memory. As an advanced form of entertainment using LED lanterns, the Japan Sky Lantern Association provides a special experience sharing pleasant light and space using helium gas for buoyancy without using fire. Compared to older balloon-type lanterns, these sky lanterns have successfully reduced helium gas usage by about 40%, and they can be retrieved easily and safely after the event by winding them in with the attached thread.
