Japanese name:あんとりっぷの新体験~安中・野鍛冶の手仕ごと体験~
📅 Sat, Oct 3, 2026
About this event
This is an experiential program where you can savor the culture of traditional field blacksmithing (nokaji) that lives on in Annaka, under the gentle guidance of an artisan couple. Feeling the heat as the iron glows red, the warmth of handcrafted tools that integrate into daily life, and the quiet focus of craftsmanship, you can enjoy spending time crafting "tools for living" with your own hands. You will create a minimalist iron tray—a one-of-a-kind piece that brings a quiet presence to your life as a key tray or small accessory dish. Even beginners can expect a high-quality finish with the kind help of the instructors, offering an entry point into the craftsmanship of field blacksmithing. Although iron may not always shape exactly as intended, that very "accident" adds unique character to the work, making the creation of a truly one-of-a-kind dish part of its appeal.
