The 'Showa Autumn Festival', held annually in Showa Village, Gunma Prefecture, is an event where visitors can fully enjoy the autumn flavors and charms of the village, which boasts the highest production of konjac potatoes in Japan. The highlight is the 'Giant Konjac Pot' made in a huge pot over 2 meters in diameter, which uses plenty of the village's specialty konjac and vegetables to serve visitors the village's autumn tastes. In addition, a wide variety of events that can be enjoyed by all ages are prepared, including sales of grilled corn, fresh agricultural produce, and processed agricultural products, event stages such as character shows, and a Beyblade tournament. At the venue, in addition to the distribution of the giant konjac pot, there are sales of various food and drinks, sales of goods such as vegetables, flower seedlings, and jumbo pumpkins, as well as a variety of hands-on corners such as die-cutting and calendar making. Furthermore, a welfare bazaar, blood donation, Canon product exhibitions with calendar making experiences, and PR activities for the Self-Defense Forces are also held, making it an excellent opportunity for local residents and visitors from outside the village to discover the charms of Showa Village's agriculture and food.
