Sarugakyo Lake Akaya Fireworks Festival 2026

For three days from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, the 'Sarugakyo Lake Akaya Fireworks Festival' will be held over Lake Akaya in Sarugakyo Onsen, Minakami Town, Gunma Prefecture. Each day features 10 minutes of fireworks illuminating the night sky with differently themed lights. In addition to fireworks, daily rotating events are scheduled: a magic show on Friday, August 28; professional wrestling on Saturday, August 29; and a Tsugaru shamisen performance on Sunday, August 30. This feast of light and sound unfolding over three consecutive nights will brilliantly decorate the summer night sky and captivate visitors. Staying overnight in the Sarugakyo area is recommended, and overnight guests will be guided to recommended viewing spots.
