47th Tokorozawa Citizen Festival

The 'Tokorozawa Citizen Festival' began in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the enforcement of the Tokorozawa city municipal system, and has since been hosted by an executive committee as a 'festival handmade by citizens'. In 2026, it is scheduled to be held over two days on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25 at Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park. At the venue, visitors can enjoy performances of diverse genres ranging from rock to folk songs, new music, lion dance (shishimai), festival musical accompaniment (ohayashi), and children's mikoshi. In addition, there are plenty of plans for a wide range of generations to enjoy, such as movie viewing, a bazaar, gourmet treats including delicious dango and matcha, parades, kite flying, stuffed animals, dancing, karaoke, mini steam locomotives, and a petting zoo. The program groups based on four concepts—CULTURE, BRAND, KIDS, and Citizen Activities & Administrative PR—offer an opportunity for everyone from adults to children to experience the charm of Tokorozawa. The theme is 'Sky, People, Future..... Tokorozawa', aiming for an event where all visitors can deepen their bonds and fulfill their dreams and hopes in Tokorozawa, the birthplace of Japanese aviation. Admission to the venue is free, but food, beverage, retail sales, and some hands-on experiences require a fee.
