A traditional lion dance (shishimai) handed down in the Kaminaguri district of Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture. It is dedicated to the annual grand festivals of Hoshimiya Shrine in Kaminaguri Miyanohira and Suwa Shrine in Kaminaguri Suwa. Heroic and powerful dances are performed to pray for peace across the realm. This lion dance is a precious event that conveys the region's culture and traditions to the present day, and is widely loved by many people.
