About this event
This is a juried open-call art exhibition hosted by Kasukabe City, the Kasukabe City Board of Education, and the Kasukabe Art Exhibition Executive Committee. A wide variety of works across six divisions—Japanese-style painting, Western-style painting, sculpture, crafts, calligraphy, and photography—are exhibited, making it popular as an annual autumn event. During the exhibition period, a lecture and demonstration on lacquer art by Living National Treasure Kiichiro Masumura, a calligraphy performance by the Kasukabe Higashi High School Calligraphy Club, accessible workshops, and gallery talks by judges are scheduled to be held. Eligibility for submission is open to individuals aged 15 and older who live, work, or attend school in Kasukabe City. Submissions are limited to unpublished original creative works; copies and reproductions are not accepted, though classical transcriptions (rinsho) are permitted in the calligraphy division. Up to two works per person can be submitted per division. Costs related to work creation, framing/finishing, and delivery/removal must be borne by the entrant.
