About this event
The "Reiwa 8 Winter Regional Tour: Grand Sumo Hasuda Tournament", marking the first-ever Grand Sumo regional tour held in Hasuda City, Saitama Prefecture, will be held at Hasuda City Comprehensive Civic Gymnasium Palcy. Approximately 200 familiar sumo wrestlers seen on television will participate, engaging in heated matches on the dohyo inside Palcy. Unique touring program elements such as "shokkiri" (comedic sumo bout) and "taiko-uchiwake" (demonstration of ceremonial drumming), along with the opportunity to interact with sumo wrestlers up close, are major attractions of this tournament. In the renewed Palcy venue, visitors can fully enjoy powerful bouts and the charm of sumo. Additionally, this regional tour will feature "chibikko sumo", where children can experience practice sessions wrestling with sumo wrestlers on the dohyo.
