About this event

A special exhibition themed on the festival music (matsuri-bayashi) of Moroyama Town will be held. Moroyama Town is home to two distinct bayashi cultures: the Dashi-bayashi, which adorns float festivals by the Morohongo Bayashi Preservation Society, and the Nagase-bayashi by the Nagase Bayashi Preservation Society, which features humorous dances performed on stage. This special exhibition focuses on the charm and history of both Morohongo Bayashi and Nagase Bayashi, introducing their depth. The Morohongo Bayashi Preservation Society and Nagase Bayashi Preservation Society are co-organizers. In addition to this special exhibition in the Special Exhibition Room of the Moroyama Town Historical and Folk Museum, an off-site exhibition titled "Morohongo Floats and Festival Music" will also be held at the Central Community Center. This off-site exhibition focuses on the floats and festival music of Morohongo pulled during summer festivals, introducing the history of the summer festival and Morohongo festival music, as well as materials regarding the floats celebrating their 40th anniversary since construction, through panel displays. It is co-organized by the Morohongo Bayashi Preservation Society.
