Japanese name:ハト麦収穫体験
📅 Sat, Oct 3, 2026
About this event
In the Kumai Forest and the Ishabanuma Yatsuda valley rice paddies in Hatoyama Town, Saitama Prefecture, a Job's tears (hatomugi) harvesting experience event will be held, featuring pesticide-free Job's tears cultivated by the NPO Hatoyama Forum. Participants can experience harvesting Job's tears and sun-drying them on hazakake drying racks. A tasting of Job's tears pancakes will be offered during lunch, and participants can also enjoy a guided nature observation tour of the satoyama biotope in the afternoon. Event participants will later receive a pack of Hatoyama-produced healthy Job's tears tea. It is also possible to participate as a volunteer in Job's tears cultivation starting from August. This event provides a valuable opportunity to experience food and nature amidst the beautiful environment where the original satoyama scenery remains.
