Japanese name:八丁湖 紅葉ウォーキング

About this event
This is a walking event held during the autumn foliage season at Hatchoko Lake in Yoshimi Town, Saitama Prefecture. Anyone is welcome to participate casually. Hatchoko Lake is an artificial reservoir created for rice paddy cultivation, serving as a spot where visitors can enjoy a relaxing walk while gazing at the water surface and trees. Along the lakeside is a walking course of approximately 1,600 meters, allowing you to enjoy the changing scenery while taking a leisurely lap around the lake. While it is known as a famous cherry blossom spot in spring, autumn leaves color the lakeside in autumn, offering a quiet time amidst calm hues. When visiting, looking not only at the scenic beauty but also at the history of local water utilization will provide a deeper sense of appreciation. The walking course has gentle terrain, making it easy to enjoy even with small children. Spots like Takaoiko Shrine are dotted around, promising an atmospheric stroll. Because it is a natural environment, facilities such as restrooms and shops may be limited, so preparing drinks, light snacks, and trash bags in advance will ensure peace of mind. Let us protect manners and enjoy nature to the fullest by spending time quietly without making loud noises and avoiding forced entry into plant areas or the waterside.
