About this event
"Door to Classical Music" is a short concert series where anyone can casually enjoy classical music. In 2026, talented musicians will perform, led by Taira Kaneko, principal clarinetist of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, alongside Masaki Shono, Iku Enomoto, and Yukiho Otsuka. In addition, local young musicians known as "Higashimatsuyama Next Artists" will join, presenting the charm of classical music with the diverse sounds of clarinet, viola, violin, cello, and piano. Violist Masaki Shono won 2nd prize at the Salzburg-Mozart International Chamber Music Competition and is active both in Japan and internationally. Pianist Rio Yokota is from Higashimatsuyama and is an accomplished performer who has won awards in domestic and international competitions. The program is titled "~Learning Classical Music History with Fun~" and includes G. Telemann's Viola Concerto, the 3rd movement from L.v. Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 "Moonlight", and R. Schumann's Fairy Tale Pictures (Marchenbilder). Please don't miss it!
