46th National Yutakana Umizukuri Competition One-Year Pre-Event: Yutakana Umizukuri Festa

About this event

To raise awareness and build momentum for the 46th National Yutakana Umizukuri Competition ~Fusa-no-Kuni Chiba Tournament~, the one-year-out pre-event 'Yutakana Umizukuri Festa' will be held. At the venue, a ceremony will be held for invited guests, featuring the unveiling of the tournament theme 'Let's Create Tomorrow's Sea Where Life Sings' by the Chiba Prefectural Konodai High School Calligraphy Club and the debut of the tournament costume design by CHI-BA+KUN. Mascots Chopi (Choshi City) and Asapi (Asahi City) are also scheduled to appear on stage. At sea, a welcome parade by fishing boats introducing Chiba Prefecture's representative fishing methods and a fleet parade hoisting big-catch flags will be conducted. In addition, juvenile fish such as red sea bream will be released, accompanied by a performance by the Choshi Municipal Choshi High School Brass Band. For the general public, the 'Yutakana Umizukuri Festa' will feature a talk show by Sakana-kun and Tsuri-zao Morita, a stage show by Chuba Chuba Wonderland & CHI-BA+KUN, and performances by the Choshi Municipal Choshi High School Brass Band and the Hibiki Rengo-kai. The sales and tasting area will offer red sea bream, fresh raw tuna bowls, fish ball soup, and hard clams for purchase, along with free tastings of raw tuna. The hands-on corner will include a touch pool, aquarium exhibits, and displays from the Chiba Prefectural Fisheries Research Center. Visitors can also enjoy PR booths for the 46th National Yutakana Umizukuri Competition, introductions to Chiba-brand marine products, and onboard tours of the Chiba Prefecture fisheries patrol boat 'Fusakaze'.
