At "Naval Vessel PR 2026 in FUNABASHI," held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the South Pier of the Keihin Food Complex in the Katsunan East District of Chiba Port in Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) destroyer "Setogiri" will be open to the public. This event offers a rare opportunity to board and tour the interior of a naval destroyer normally closed to the public. Onboard, original stamp corners for the destroyer "Setogiri," brochures, and "goshuin" naval stamp distributions are scheduled, allowing visitors to deepen their understanding of JMSDF activities and vessels. In addition, the PR booth will feature a gacha capsule toy corner containing tin badges (limited to children) to entertain visitors. Since there is no parking around the venue, a free shuttle bus will operate from JR Shin-Narashino Station. When touring the ship, comfortable clothing is recommended for safety, and baggage inspections will be conducted. On the same day, the icebreaker "Shirase" event "Challenging SHIRASE 2026 (3rd Edition)" will be held concurrently, featuring diverse activities such as onboard live music, Antarctic special talks, and an onboard planetarium.
