About this event

Held along the Takeda River in the Mari area of Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, the 'Takeda River Cosmos Festival' is an event where visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of cosmos flowers blooming in profusion every year in mid-October. Along the 'Umakuta no Michi' promenade extending from JR Makuta Station to Shiroyama where the Mariyatsu Castle ruins are located, the 1,600m walking course from the starting point in particular is called the 'Cosmos Road,' where one can stroll enveloped in pink cosmos blossoms. During the event, a cosmos concert and an Issenboku walking tour are conducted, alongside refreshment stalls selling local agricultural produce, snacks, and beverages to entertain visitors. It is an event where one can fully enjoy the arrival of autumn while experiencing the nature and history along the Takeda River, a location connected to the Boso Takeda clan from the Sengoku period.
