Set in Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture, the "Asahi Town Stroll Art Festival 2026" treats the entire town as a canvas, rediscovering the region's charm and memories through art. Centered around venues such as shopping streets near JR Asahi Station and the Chiba Shoyu Art Square, diverse artworks inspired by Asahi City's scenery, culture, and history will be exhibited. Once-disused shops and ordinary places are transformed by art into "scenes that capture the heart," altering the gaze of visiting spectators. This art festival aims not only to reconnect people with landscapes, but also to spark encounters between people and nurture cross-generational bonds. It also focuses on Asahi City's history—such as memories of the Great East Japan Earthquake, the history of the Katori Air Base, and the philosophy of Yugaku Ohara—providing opportunities to pass down these stories across generations through art. The wish is for outside visitors to experience Asahi's nature, food, and warm hospitality, while local residents rediscover the charm of a town filled with stories. Art serves as "light," "words," and a catalyst for "encounters" to solve local issues, promote human interaction, and build the future of the town. The main event takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays during the exhibition period (October 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31), and a Curry Festival & Hyakki Yagyo (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) will also be held on the final day.
