About this event
Presented by Sesion Suginami, the seasonal event 'Christmas Family Concert 2026' in collaboration with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra will be held. This year features voice actress Yumi Kakazu, well known for playing the role of Shizuka Minamoto (Shizuka-chan) in the nationally popular anime 'Doraemon'. It is a concert where you can enjoy the world of classic fairy tales alongside music from Tchaikovsky's 'The Sleeping Beauty'. In Part 1, you can experience the charm of the timbre and resonance of each instrument through ensemble performances and talks about musical instruments. In Part 2, narration by Yumi Kakazu paired with performances by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra will guide you into the dream-filled world of 'The Sleeping Beauty'. The performance delivers both the delight of imagining the story with your ears and the profound charm unique to classical music. In addition, the fantastical paper-cutting art gracing the stage by Ayano Sagawa, a paper-cutting artist with ties to Suginami Ward, is a must-see. On the same day as the concert, the 'Sesion Suginami Christmas Market 2026' will be held simultaneously throughout the entire Sesion Suginami building, where visitors can enjoy gourmet food, workshops, games, and more. Please spend an exciting time wrapped in the Christmas atmosphere with your entire family.
