Performing Arts Festival "Autumn Meteorite 2026 Tokyo"

"Autumn Meteorite 2026 Tokyo" is an international performing arts festival held mainly at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward. With playwright and novelist Toshiki Okada serving as Artistic Director, the festival will present three pillars: the "Performance Program" featuring 13 diverse performing arts works from Japan and abroad, the "Non-Performance Program" consisting of lectures and workshops, and the "Welcome System" to support attendees. This arts festival aims to invigorate international exchange in arts and culture with missions of creating new art, international dissemination, and human resource development. It is also actively committed to improving accessibility. In addition to staging cutting-edge domestic and international productions, efforts are also directed toward discovering domestic artists, commissioning new works, and building networks with artists and presenters based in Asia. Through diverse programming, it creates opportunities for the performing arts expressions of Japan and the world—existing in the here and now—to be perceived as more familiar, directly connecting, and resonant, allowing people to notice various realities and reframe this world from new perspectives.
