Located approximately 180 km from central Tokyo in the Izu Islands, Miyakejima is hosting an island living experience program for those considering relocation. Why not spend a week experiencing a new life on the island in Miyake Village, surrounded by clear waters, majestic volcanic landscapes, and beautiful seas? This program is not a sightseeing tour, but a relocation trial designed to let you experience 'living as a local.' During the period, while touring the island, you can experience the 'reality of daily life' that is rarely seen on tourist trips, such as housing, employment, and shopping environments. Through visits to local businesses, introductions to regional jobs, island life experiences, tours of municipal housing, island guidance, and community exchanges, the program aims to provide a stepping stone for relocation by letting you feel the island's atmosphere, build connections with people, and experience the charm of island living. You can also enjoy interacting with local residents and other participants. Participation and accommodation fees are free, but round-trip transportation costs to Miyakejima and meal expenses during your stay are at your own expense. In past island living experience programs, many participants have successfully relocated to Miyakejima. It is recommended for those interested in island life or those considering relocation who would like to try out living on the island first.
