About this event
In Yokohama Chinatown, the '2026 Mid-Autumn Festival Moon Viewing Gathering' will be held to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday. Taking place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Yamashitacho Park, this event allows visitors to enjoy performances of traditional Chinese instruments such as stringed instruments and the guzheng, along with graceful Chinese dances, while viewing the beautiful Harvest Moon. You can also taste mooncakes provided by renowned shops in Yokohama Chinatown. This viewing gathering offers a special opportunity to spend a harmonious gathering with family and loved ones while appreciating the moon on a long autumn night. Celebrating the full moon of Jugoya, this event is also said to be the origin of Japan's Jugoya moon-viewing tradition, offering a chance to experience rich Chinese culture. Tickets will be sold for a limited 300 people, which include 3 types of mooncakes, 1 bottle of drinking water, and a glowing handheld lantern. On the day, there is also a special gift benefit for participants attending in Chinese attire. In case of rain, announcements will be made on the Yokohama Chinatown Official X (formerly Twitter).
