About this event
The hands-on event "Honolulu Meets 2026" will be held under the theme of "Meeting Honolulu." Based on the concept of deepening mutual exchange among citizens through sports and culture, this event features various programs designed to make people feel closer to sister city Honolulu. On the day of the event, the plaza in front of City Hall will feature a lively atmosphere with a variety of Hawaiian goods shops and Hawaiian food trucks. Additionally, at the Citizens' Fureai Plaza on the 1st floor of the City Hall Main Building, visitors can enjoy high-level hula performances by city hula dance teams and live island sessions featuring ukulele music. Furthermore, in the spirit of "Autumn for Sports," exchange projects to work up a sweat together with guests from Hawaii are being considered, including planned pickleball exchange events, a sport growing in popularity in Japan. Why not take this opportunity to fully experience the culture and charm of Honolulu and deepen exchanges?
