About this event
The 48th Tanzawako Marathon is highly popular for its course offering views of the magnificent Lake Tanzawa, beautiful autumn foliage, and the grand Mt. Fuji rising between mountains. It is a tournament where a wide spectrum of runners, from competitive athletes to recreational participants, can join. Specially set courses of 20 km, 10 km, and 3.3 km are available, open to healthy individuals capable of finishing within each respective time limit. Eligibility starts from 5th grade elementary school students, and participants under 18 require parental consent. People with disabilities (excluding wheelchair users) can also participate. There is no athlete check-in on the day of the event; number cards and runner chips will be mailed 2 to 3 weeks prior to the event date. Parking passes require advance application and are limited in number, so using public transportation is recommended. Dedicated event buses will also run from JR Gotemba Line Yaga Station and Odakyu Line Shin-Matsuda Station. Participants will receive T-shirts, as well as complimentary drinks and shishi-jiru (wild boar soup). Baggage storage (valuables only) and concession stalls are also available.
