Tochio Festival

The "Tochio Festival," a major event coloring summer in Tochio, will be held over two days on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2026. On the first day, the "Grand Folk Dance Parade," where local residents, companies, organizations, and schools dance brightly through the streets, and the heroic "Mikoshi Togyo" (portable shrine procession) will liven up the town. On the second day, taking place at Tochiole and Akiba Park, there are plenty of events for children and adults to enjoy, such as opening events, performing arts festivals, food trucks, Molkky trials, and exhibitions by fire departments and the Self-Defense Forces. In addition, the "All Japan Barrel Mikoshi Tug-of-War Championship" where strong teams gather will also be held. Concluding the festival is a grand fireworks display that vividly lights up the Tochio night sky. Please enjoy two days full of local tradition, vibrancy, and smiles with your family and friends. Spectacular festivities will unfold, including the tug-of-war competition using rare barrel mikoshi, the grand folk dance parade, portable shrine procession, and grand fireworks show.
