About this event
"Fox Night Festival 2026," held as an autumn tradition in Takayanagi-cho, Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, is an event enveloped in a magical atmosphere. The highlight of the festival is the "Fox Lantern Procession," in which people wearing fox masks and costumes participate, fantastically illuminating the path from Tochigahara Shrine to Kodomo Shizen Okoku (Children's Nature Kingdom). Visitors can also enjoy the "Fox Dance" and a free serving of "One-Tatami-Mat Giant Fried Tofu." At the venue, Yosakoi dance, Shishi Kagura (lion dance) dedications, Kurohimeyama Taiko drum performances, and concerts will also be held, further enlivening the festival. Advance registration is required to participate in the lantern procession, but same-day participation is also possible. Shuttle buses will operate between venues.
