About this event

The "2026 Sado Don'o Tea Ceremony" will be held to remember Don'o (Takashi Masuda), praised as "the greatest tea master since Sen no Rikyu," and honor his achievements. The venue is the former Sado Magistrate's Office site, where Takashi Masuda's father served. During the two-day period, guests can enjoy two tea seatings—Omotesenke and Urasenke—along with a tenshin (light meal) seating. In the gentle autumn season, you can enjoy tea while connecting with the personality and accomplishments of Takashi Masuda, a prominent figure from Sado. Tea tickets with tenshin are 6,000 yen, and tickets without tenshin are 4,000 yen. Benefits include a free admission pass to the Aikawa Local Museum and a free admission pass to the Kirarium Sado Exhibition Room. In the exhibition corner, items and panels related to Takashi Masuda will be displayed. At the teahouse, tea and sweets are served, and anyone can easily participate (participation fee: 1,000 yen per person, free for high school students and younger).
