About this event
Set at the Nishimikawa Placer Gold Mine, a component asset of the World Heritage site "Sado Island Gold Mines," this is a hands-on learning event for parents and children to enjoy together. After strolling through the Sasagawa area where history and scenic landscapes remain and learning about the history of Sado's gold mines, participants will try their hand at panning for placer gold in a natural river. By actually walking, seeing, and experiencing it firsthand, you can feel the appeal of the Nishimikawa Placer Gold Mine. It is a wonderful opportunity to create fun family memories while feeling close to Sado's history. This event was originally scheduled for July 26, but was postponed due to a forecast of heavy rain and is now held on October 25.
