Hot Spring Town Friendship Music Festival: Mozart @ Unazuki

About this event

This unique music festival began in 2010 when the sentiment that Unazuki Onsen resembles Salzburg, the historic Austrian city and birthplace of Mozart, met conductor Katsuto Yokoshima's words, 'Mozart suits Unazuki!' Dedicated exclusively to performing Mozart's music, it consists of free mini-concerts (street corner concerts) held at various locations around the hot spring town, and paid special concerts held at the Kurobe City Art Creation Center Selene. At the street corner concerts, performances by openly recruited participants allow close interaction between players and the audience, while at the special concerts, full-scale performances of chamber music, orchestra, and chorus can be enjoyed. In addition, under the title 'Delicious Mozart,' a project is conducted where local shops offer limited-time original menus themed around the music festival and Austria, enlivening the event with food as well as music. It aims to be a citizen-made music festival that anyone, including those unfamiliar with music, can enjoy.
