Japanese name:ねっとり極甘!志観寺のさつまいもを掘って食べよう
📅 Sun, Oct 18, 2026
About this event
In the Shikanji area located in former Inami Town, Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, a sweet potato digging experience event will be held where you can fully enjoy the nature of autumn. In this event, you can experience the fun of digging sweet potatoes out of the soil like a treasure hunt, featuring the "Beni-haruka" and "Silk Sweet" varieties characterized by their honey-like sweetness. Both adults and children will be able to make unforgettable memories through this special experience. The sweet potatoes dug up can be enjoyed as sticky, ultra-sweet roasted sweet potatoes at the terraced rice paddy summit observatory while viewing the spectacular scenery of the Tonami Plain. As a souvenir, one bag of sweet potatoes grown in Shikanji (approximately 2 kg) will be gifted. In case of rain, a woodcarving experience will be held instead of the sweet potato digging experience. With buckwheat flowers and cosmos in full bloom at their best viewing time, it will be a day to fully enjoy autumn nature with all five senses.
