27th Naganuma Maoi Dream Festival

About this event

Naganuma Town's major event, the 'Naganuma Maoi Dream Festival,' will be held again this year. As the main event, the famous competition 'Yamase,' in which contestants push forward along a single log bridge against a headwind, returns in a renewed format. A prize of 100,000 yen is prepared for the winner. In addition, there will be the 'Zukiiin Cup' shaved ice speed-eating contest (children's division only) and 'Collect Stamps for Bingo!' where participants can collect stamps to win many luxurious prizes. Visitors can also enjoy booths offering Naganuma Town's specialty Genghis Khan (grilled mutton), Self-Defense Forces vehicle displays, a children's fair, and stage events by the Naganuma Centenary Taiko Preservation Society and the Naganuma Town Isami Shishimai Lion Dance Preservation Society. Furthermore, there will be all-you-can-stuff fresh Naganuma vegetables, free distribution of oden, and numerous stalls and food trucks, offering plenty of entertainment for both children and adults all day long. A rice cake toss (mochimaki) will also be held for the finale.
