The "FY2026 Komatsu Air Base Air Festa" will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) Komatsu Air Base. It is an open-base public event for the base hosting the 6th Air Wing and other units, the only fighter wing on the Sea of Japan coast based in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. On the day of the event, a wide variety of attractions are scheduled, including a thrilling aerobatic flight display by the Blue Impulse, flight displays by the 6th Air Wing and other units, and ground displays of aircraft and equipment. One of the highlights is the uniquely painted aircraft of the Tactical Fighter Training Group "Aggressor," which serves as the simulated enemy force and is a distinctive feature of the base. A comprehensive rehearsal will also be held the day before, building anticipation for the main air show. Admission is free, and the event runs from 8:30 to 15:00. Komatsu Air Base shares its runway with the civilian Komatsu Airport, and heavy congestion is expected on the day, so the use of public transportation is recommended. Parking is primarily by advance reservation via Komatsu City's Hometown Tax Donation, but early application is required.
