Held annually on a Sunday in September with the aim of promoting 'Yamanaka Bushi', one of Japan's three major folk songs, the 41st Japan Sea Folk Song Festival: Yamanaka Bushi National Competition is a celebration of folk songs where performers compete to be the best in Japan. At the venue, a passionate competition unfolds to preserve the traditions of Yamanaka Bushi while bringing out its fresh appeal. General viewing is free of charge, so anyone can readily enjoy the wonderful singing voices and passionate performances at the venue. Application forms and programs for participants are also available for download, making it an enjoyable event for both competitors and spectators.
