The "Iitoko Hakusan Railway Festival" is an annual event held in October, featuring a painting contest this year. Under the theme "Future Railways Running Through Hakusan City," the exhibition will showcase children's imaginative depictions of future railways and the cityscape of Hakusan. With cooperation from three companies—JR West, IR Ishikawa Railway, and Hokuriku Railroad—awards and commemorative gifts will be presented by each company. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday (national holiday), October 12, 2026, at the Kinjo University Nikko Arena during the "Iitoko Hakusan Railway Festival" event. The submission deadline is Sunday, September 6, 2026 (must arrive by this date). Winning entries are scheduled to be made into posters and displayed at stations and various facilities.
