About this event

The FY2026 "Tsuruga Matsuri" will be held over four days from Wednesday, September 2 to Saturday, September 5. This festival is a traditional event announcing the arrival of autumn in Tsuruga, where many people gather from inside and outside the city, creating an energetic venue for local community exchange. Throughout the festival period, various traditional events will take place across the city, including festivities at the Festival Plaza, Yoiyama parades, mikoshi (portable shrine) processions, Go-Horen imperial carriage processions, and dashi float parades. In particular, a performance by the Tsuruga Firefighters Brigade (Tsuruga Tobi-tai) and a Folk Dance Evening are scheduled for Friday, September 4, and the Carnival Grand Parade will be held along Aioi Street and Kaguramachi 1-Chome Street on Saturday, September 5. Through these events, visitors can experience the history and culture of Tsuruga. The Carnival Grand Parade and the Folk Dance Evening may be cancelled in the event of rain.
