About this event
The 'Museum Nature Class: "Cooking" a Mysterious Fossil!?' held at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is a hands-on event that explores the secrets of the ancient giant bivalve 'Shikamaia' as a mysterious fossil. In this 3rd installment of the series, participants will intuitively explore the shell shape and opening mechanism of Shikamaia by actually boiling and 'cooking' familiar bivalves such as common clams and scallops. Through this unique approach, participants can learn enjoyably and deeply about fossil structures and the environment of that era. *The boiled bivalves cannot be eaten. This class will be an excellent opportunity to nurture interest in biological evolution and paleontology.
