Held in the Echizen-Sabae area of Fukui Prefecture, Japan's largest open factory event 'RENEW/2026' is a 3-day event from October 9 to 11, 2026, where you can experience manufacturing sites firsthand. In a region where diverse industries congregate—such as lacquerware, washi paper, forged cutlery, chests, pottery, eyeglasses, and textiles—approximately 121 businesses will participate, offering workshop tours and around 80 types of hands-on workshops. It is a valuable opportunity to learn techniques directly from artisans and touch the materials. In addition, official tours visiting Echizen washi paper, Echizen pottery, and more, as well as talk events themed on the heritage and design of craft regions, will be conducted. Furthermore, the 'Production Area Living & Working Guidance' will provide information relevant to relocation and employment. Information centers will be set up throughout the host area of Sabae City, Echizen City, and Echizen Town, with public transportation access also arranged. This event offers an opportunity not only to visit manufacturing sites, but also to discover the region and connect with people.
