About this event
The "Tsuru Iki-Iki Festival 2026 Opening Ceremony", which kicks off the Lifelong Learning Month in October and November, will be held. At the opening ceremony, Professor Tatsuhiko Hinaga from the University of Yamanashi will give a lecture titled "Children of the Community Raised by Everyone", discussing mechanisms for the entire community to raise children and building a community where everyone can participate through the significance and practice of community schools and local school collaborative activities. Additionally, on the morning of the opening ceremony, health consultation sessions and experiential workshops by medical technical staff from Tsuru Municipal Hospital will also be held. In the consultation sessions, six departments—Nutrition, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Engineering, and Radiology—will answer questions about everyday health. In the workshop, visitors can experience gymnastics and stretching led by the Rehabilitation Department. Furthermore, on the day of the opening ceremony and from October 6 to 9, an exhibition of works created by elderly day-care activity groups, support facilities for persons with disabilities, and other organizations will also be held at Education Plaza Tsuru.
