Japanese name:印章供養祭
📅 Thu, Oct 1, 2026
About this event
This is a memorial festival to honor and lay to rest personal seals (inkan/hanko) that have fulfilled their role in verifying personal identity. Led by a Shinto priest, it is strictly performed following traditional ancient rituals: "Shihokatame (purification of four directions) - Koshin no Gi (welcoming the deity) - Norito recitation - Tamagushi offering - Shoshin no Gi (sending off the deity) - Otakiage (memorial burning ritual) - Kenpai (ceremonial toast)." A solemn ceremony is held to express gratitude to the seals and pray for new beginnings.
