Halloween Flight (Hot Air Ballooning at Lake Yamanaka)

This is an event where you can ride a hot air balloon at Lake Yamanaka and fully enjoy the superb autumn scenery and highland breeze. In particular, the "Halloween Flight" is held on Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 21, offering a special experience of viewing the inverted Mount Fuji (Sakasa Fuji) in the clear early morning air. The event hours for the October session are from 6:00 to 8:00. The venue is the Harappa (grass field) of Yamanakako Communication Plaza Kirara, located 10 minutes by car from the Yamanakako IC on the Higashi-Fuji-Goko Road. The hot air balloon is a tethered flight connected by ropes, reaching a height of about 15m to 20m with a flight time of around 5 minutes. Up to about 5 adults can board at one time. Fees are 5,000 yen for adults (junior high school students and above), 4,000 yen for residents of Yamanakako Village, Oshino Village, and Fujiyoshida City, 3,000 yen for children (elementary school students), and 1,500 yen for preschoolers. Advance registration is required, and applications will close on a first-come, first-served basis once capacity is reached. The event may be canceled due to weather, in which case notification will be sent by email around 16:00 the previous day. Passenger insurance is included, and children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian. Pregnant individuals cannot ride. This event is hosted by the Yamanakako Hot Air Balloon Project Group and co-hosted by the Yamanakako Tourism Association and others.
